YoM Day 24: Where we need to be

Yesterday, we talked about finding the answers to our questions just by living our lives and walking down a path. Today is a new day.
"The snowflakes fall, each to their proper place." - A Zen saying
Everyone has unique gifts and talents that only they possess. In the same way, we all have something only we can offer the world. One thing people tend to worry about is how they can become successful. Nobody wants to fail. We're conditioned to want to win. Figuring out how to win is the hard part and we tend to idolize those at the top because they represent how high the bar can go. More importantly, other people's success represents the possibility of what we can accomplish.

A big part of what makes people successful is whether they learn to own their uniqueness.

Whether it's Steven King's parallels to his psyche in his novels or Eichiro Oda's creativity and style in his manga One Piece, the greats know exactly who they are and have found a way to put both heart and soul into their works. As a result they've left behind a legacy that has inspired millions world-wide.

Although it's important to figure out what your style is, I don't think its necessary to put too much thought into figuring it out. Much like life, as we continue to do our thing we'll naturally find it. It'll just happen after countless moments of trial and error. That's how we learn.

The same goes with life, too. There's no way we can predict and plan out our lives (our powers of precognition are pretty trash), so the best thing we can do is focus on the present and have faith that things will work out in the end as long as we never give up on our pursuits. The destination isn't what's important, it's the journey that really matters.

No matter what the struggle, it's gonna end up being alright. Life is strange like that. Do you.

Just by trying, you're already where you need to be.

                                                                                                                          Peace
Embrace your uniqueness
We all have our place in the world. Embrace your weirdness.
